For those of you who remember the Sega Dreamcast, might remember a game very well on the right side of fantastic…Rez which launched on PS2 and Sega Dreamcast in 2001 is now making an appearance with it’s updated predecessor Rez Infinite on the Oculus, Sony PlayStation and Steam VR platforms. Rez Infinite has been on the PS4 for the last year, but is a new release to Oculus and Steam VR, which should no doubt bring some smiles to players on both platforms.
The game itself is a trip and one thing that Rez was notable for was taking out the normal sound effects in your average rail shooter and replacing them with electronic sounds and melodies, as you attack more enemies, you make an assortment of symphonic magic. Now that’s Synthtastic!
The fact that Rez Infinite was made for VR is going to be a wild ride for anyone new to the game world and will have to endure silky 60fps frames with 7.1 surround sound support, not to mention the visuals are like The Matrix meets Tron. Rez Infinite is truly an experience, worth it for anyone wanting to dive deep down the rabbit hole of fun and immersion.
