October 8. That is the new PS VR2 date for Into the Radius 2, pushed back two weeks from September 24, which is this Thursday.

Developer CM Immersive gave the reason in an email to players, reported by UploadVR on September 17: "During the final certification stage, we identified a few things that still need attention. We want to use this time to make sure the PS VR2 version is in the best possible shape before players enter the Radius."

That is certification, not content. The build exists. Sony's review found things in it.

What was promised for the 24th

Game director Aleksei Shulga laid out the port on the PlayStation Blog on August 24. Native 90fps. Eye-tracked dynamic foveated rendering. Headset haptics. Adaptive trigger resistance that changes from weapon to weapon.

Co-op was never in the launch build. Shulga's post scheduled a free two-player update for Q4 2026. Worth noting that the Steam version supports four players. PS VR2 owners get half that, later.

The single-player campaign is the whole offer on day one, and it is a substantial one. Modular weapon components. Armor configurations. Gear that needs maintaining. New enemy types in the expanded Pechorsk Anomaly, Mimics and Phantoms among them.

Sony's queue is the slow one

UploadVR notes that Sony's certification and approval process has been said to be considerably more rigorous than Meta's or Steam's. The evidence sits in this game's own history. Into the Radius 2 spent 21 months in Early Access on Steam, from July 24, 2024 to its April 23 1.0 release, then left Early Access on Quest on August 27. Neither platform required the game to be finished before it could sell. Sony's does.

That is a defensible position for a platform holder. It also means PS VR2 gets VR titles last, and gets them on a schedule set by an approval calendar rather than a studio.

CM Immersive did not say which items the review flagged, and studios rarely do. The useful signal is the timing. A build that reaches final certification is feature complete by definition, so the two weeks are going toward fixes, not content.

What the delay does to the co-op window

The free two-player update was scheduled for Q4 2026 when the port was a September title. It is now an October title, which leaves under three months between launch and the end of the promised window. CM Immersive has not revised that target. Watch it.

One more detail for anyone tracking the studio. Steam now lists the developer and publisher as CM IMMERSIVE, and the company's site sits at cm-immersive.com. VR.org's earlier coverage of this series used CM Games, which is how the studio was credited at the time.

The buyer problem underneath

Two weeks is not much. The awkward part is what the headset costs right now. VR.org reported on September 18 that PlayStation Direct lists PS VR2 at $399 and Currently Unavailable in the US, with Best Buy Marketplace sellers asking $855 and up for new units. Sony has not explained the gap.

So the port now arrives on October 8, into a US market where the hardware to play it is either out of stock or roughly double list price. The Radius has always been about resource scarcity. Someone at Sony appears to be committed to the bit.

For anyone deciding today: Into the Radius 2 costs $39.99 on Steam and runs four-player co-op now. Its recent Steam reviews sit at 64 percent positive over the last 30 days against 79 percent across 3,894 English reviews all time, which is a softening worth reading before you buy anywhere. If you own a PS VR2 already, wait the two weeks and wishlist it. If you do not own one, this is not the month to go looking.
